Climate change. Loss of biodiversity. The search for sustainability. The Department of Environmental Studies recognizes that the issues facing the future of our planet involves an interplay of technology, culture, economics and politics. That’s why our program takes an interdisciplinary approach. We give you a solid grounding in the natural and social sciences and then allow you to focus on the areas you wish to pursue. And you’ll have opportunities to participate in extensive research here on the shores of Long Island or abroad in Greece or Australia.
The Department of Environmental Studies offers the following programs:
A concentration in Environmental Studies is available through the B.A. in International Studies.
Adult learners may pursue the Environmental Studies track of the M.S. in Emergency Management through Adephi’s University College.
Students may consider our joint degree programs with Columbia University in environmental science.
Environmental Studies majors can also enter the Scholar Teacher Education Program in the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education.
