What can I do with a major in environmental studies?

Adelphi’s Center for Career and Professional Development offers support and tools to help you figure out your optimal career path. Use the Career Path resource to see what careers are often connected to a degree in major in environmental studies, whether you are working toward a B.A. or M.S. degree. Make an appointment with one of our career counselors for personalized assistance or career exploration.


Prepare for a teaching career

Adelphi’s Department of Environmental Studies offers a unique combined baccalaureate/master’s five year program  which allows students to major in environmental studies and also fulfill courses in education that will lead to New York State teaching certification.

See the Scholar Teacher Education Program (STEP) Master of Arts Programs in Childhood Education and Adolescence Education offered in association with the Adelphi University Ruth S. Ammon School of Education.

Students interested in entering STEP for Earth Science may be eligible for the Adelphi SEA Program, a National Science Foundation/NOYCE Scholarship for undergraduate students.
