National Sea Grant College Program – Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship
An educational opportunity for graduate students to work with national policy decisions affecting the ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources. 

Smithsonian Fellowships
A variety of graduate student fellowships and pre-doctoral fellowships in many different disciplines including conservation work, performing research alongside experienced staff.

Switzer Foundation Fellowships
Applications must have a strong desire to work on environmental issues. See website for qualifications and details.

American Association for the Advancement of Science – Science and Technology Policy Fellowships
This is a year-long fellowship, from the EPA, in public policy related to science issues.

Environmental Leadership Program Fellowships
Gain skills and leadership training while working with environmental issues and networking with other professionals in the field.

The NYSDEC offers many grants in solid and hazardous waste, water protection, environmental cleanup, wildlife protection, land and forest protection, and environmental justice. See each grant for further details; some grants require that you apply as an organization; Applications dates vary.
