Environmental Studies and Sciences

Climate change. Loss of biodiversity. The search for sustainability. The Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences recognizes that the issues facing the future of our planet involves an interplay of technology, culture, economics and politics. That’s why our program takes an interdisciplinary approach. We give you a solid grounding in the natural and social sciences and then allow you to focus on the areas you wish to pursue. And you’ll have opportunities to participate in extensive research here on the shores of Long Island or as far away as Australia or Alaska.

The Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences offers the following programs:

» BA in Environmental Studies

» BS in Environmental Science

» Minor in Environmental Studies

» BA or BS + MS in Environmental Studies 5-Year Program

» MS in Environmental Studies and Sciences

Adult learners may pursue the Environmental Studies track of the MS in Emergency Management through Adephi’s College of Professional and Continuing Studies.

Environmental Studies and Sciences majors can also enter the Scholar Teacher Education Program in the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education.
