Climate Summit

What is a climate summit?

A climate summit is an opportunity for concerned people to learn what they can do now. A climate summit is also about learning what climate change is, a working knowledge that is easy to explain. Participants learn what they can do with climate knowledge, real opportunities to join organizations that have been successfully engaging and are continuing with ambitious plans this year.

What happens at a climate summit?

  • Adelphi graduate students have ten minutes to teach you the bullet points of climate science in four different areas.
  • Community organizers from the metro area will explain what they do, how they do it, and introduce opportunities that exist for you.
  • Finally, the real deal: what are we doing to fight climate change at this moment? Advocacy, education, community organizing, protesting, and more is explained. Find a slot that fits your commitment, you can sign up then and there.
This event is sponsored by Levermore Global Scholars, Environmental Studies, Interfaith Center, and the Environmental Action Coalition.
